Ooooh, interesting! I'm off to look for vids of that one - three lipsticks in a strat looks strangely attractive!

Edit: found these. Strange tone, but not unattractive!

Not bad.... but SRV's guitar has only a volume and one master tone - no trem hardtail too.

Here's the real deal:

The do look nice, there was a Bacchus version of the Charley on YJ a while ago for an obcene amount of money, I didn't realise Fender Japan did one.

How's the Bacchus compared to your white one?

You know what, you're right.... Bacchus did make a Charley's strat. I think Andrew Mechling had one or one is up on his website. I got this one for a song ($695) and love it. Seymour Duncan lipsticks, big fat neck with jumbo frets. The master tone is great.... especially on the neck pickup. Can get it snarly rolled down and razor sharp cranked up. The output on these pickups is much greater than the Danelectro's.

The Bacchus strat is the same model as the white one.... only difference is the white one is a mild relic and has no back plate holes drilled. Same wonderful fit, feel and tone. Love the pickups in these..... and the chunky neck. It's also one of the prettiest 3 tone bursts I've seen in a while. The mint green pickguard and aged plastic go well with it.

I could make him an offer but he wouldn't like it

If you ever sell your's, put me down for first refusal!

So the Charley has a fat neck? ****! I thought they might do - FJ Strats tend to have fatter necks than I like.

:(

Oh well, I suppose the only good news is that you've saved me from buying something I really wouldn't get on with. Shame though, from a looks point of view, a Charley is the one Strat I really need - easily Stevie's most attractive guitar.

Oh well Marcus - enjoy.

Mike

The Charley's neck is a fat C shape.... but the Bacchus strats are really similar too..... and they too to the neck on my 65 reissue..... so they all feel pretty normal. I can't pick up a slim 62 necked strat and expect to play it comfortably for a week or two....

Nice guitars - the Charlie looks particularly nice. You don't fancy flying over with a few guitars for our UK convention do you? :D
