hi,
i'm going to buy a new used guitar.
looking on the web, i've found this one. the seller says that this is an original Fernandes from early 80'. I think it's a recent one looking at the haedstock.
someone can help me? thanks to everyone.
Nicola

Try loading them onto a free hosting site such as www.photobucket.com Then everyone can see them if you post the links here.

It looks like my mates Burny Rhandy Rhoads. Burny & Fernandes were the same company, right?

yes the same.
thanks for the answers.
i'm indecided between a Burny Les Paul custom 80' (833 $ negotiable), a Fernandes the one in the photos(961 $ ), and a Greco Les Paul Standard 78' with some sign of the age ( 640 $ ).
what do you think about these three?
thanks
Nicola

you need to compare specs.
What model Greco are we talking about? It will be a pancake body for sure.
As far as I know there were no Burny customs in 1980.

I think that in the Burny, the truss rod cover is one of the previous models. should be one with the fins.

Without pics from the pickup cavities & controls cavity it's very hard to make out a model or production date, but here we go:
The Burny is probably a '90-'92 RLC70BL based on the later type diamond logo on the headstock. I think the truss rod cover has been changed.
The Fernandes a '86/'87 LC75RR.
The Greco an EG500BB but that's guessing from only one pic.
Fernandes has VH4 pups, the Burny VH1, apart from that they have the same specs, so mahoganey body. The Greco has either a chambered or a pancake mahoganey body with 3 piece maple top (if it's a EG500).

The serial doesn't say anything about the model type.. just that it's from august 1978

ok,it was only an information.
from the inlay i'm sure that isn't a Les Paul Custom model

it's a EG500

what can you say to me about this guitar?
has a warm sound?

IMO a '78 Greco EG500 will be a pretty average guitar, based on late 70's Grecos I've played that have been higher-end models than this. I would say you could do a lot better!
