Have always loved the Revs music and his Miss Pearly Gates, but!

What would be amazing is if they actually managed to sell it for that price. Personally, I'd rather spend the money on an arsenal of Navigators, a couple of decent amps and an restored EH Holden.

What often happens, is someone who doesn't even play guitar and sees it only as an investment, will buy it and it will sit in a vault and become a conversation piece. It's a nice guitar and I'm sure it probably sounds and plays like a million bucks, or should I say fifty thousand bucks, but so does my LS150 as it plays and sounds as good as any LP I've ever owned and I've owned many, many LP's. And by the way, the same guitar without the Revs signature is about $15,000.00. I love the Rev BUT!

What would be even MORE amazing is if he took photos of the actual guitar with a piece of paper showing his eBay user name! Just static poor photos off the net? I would not touch it as this seems too easy of a scam...Pay Pal would never cover this lol.

IMO, f*ckin stupid money! No, I'll re-phrase that: collector money.
But, only 50 made... the Clapton 335 can get $20k and there's 175 of them.

Was reading a thread on the Fender forum about the Van Halen Frankenstien guitar that Fender are charging (and getting away with) $25,000 a pop for a replica of what, lets be honest, is a piece of ****. Apparently seeing what big money a mere copy could fetch, Yngwie Malmsteen listed his own #2 Strat on ebay with an 8K starting price, and didn't even get one bid!!

Perhaps nobody wanted a guitar with bits of the neck scraped out & thrown away? Or perhaps they listened to Malmsteen & thought "sh** - his tone sucks! I don't want that guitar!"

I would MUCH rather have this than the Gibbons model!

Here's Malmsteen playing some blues just for you:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uWUYNUPa90

Saw him a few years ago, awesome sound through a wall of Marshall stacks. Admittedly, he does overplay a little :-? ... but he's got chops from Hell, so why not?

Does anyone in the UK remember the Heineken adverts they showed on TV a few years ago. Old black dude sitting on the front porch trying to play his harmonica, but it ain't working.

"Sh**! That ain't the blues!"

he says. Then he drinks some Heineken & he plays beautifully.

That phrase "Sh**! That ain't the blues!" fits Mr. Malmsteen perfectly. Perhaps Yngwie thinks that Gary Moore is too under-stated?

He does HIS thing, and he is good at it. Many people like him, me personally, I can only take small doses of his music, but I like how he always seems really jolly, and enjoying what he's playing.

I wouldn't mind being half as good at doing my thing!

I have seen Malmsteen on a couple of occasions, both times in Dallas, TX; once at the Basement (~1993), and once at The Bronco Bowl (~2000).

On both occasions Malmsteen seemed to have some major technical issues with his equipment & guitars.

He displayed quite a temper, and also quite an attitude of arrogance in both performances, which IMO came across as very unprofessional, and very childish.

At both shows Malmsteen seemed to be more concerned with showmanship, and his playing was sloppy, at best.

My impressions of him are that he seems to be stuck in a loop of being a teenager.

I won?t be seeing him again ...........................
