Dear Forum Members

As we are now officially advertising on TGF I would like to introduce RD Pickups, our philosophy and a little background, but firstly I would like to say thanks to Ned for helping get the banner ad sorted.

Some of our journey began on the Tokai forum many years ago and indeed MIJ guitars have been a passion ever since, all our VR series pickups are prototyped and tested on an old Burny and a 1980 EGF1200.

The pickup winding part of our own tonequest only began a little less than a year ago, however like many of you, the quest for better tone bacame a life long passion almost too many years ago to remember.

So what makes us so different than all the rest..... well... We firmly believe we have achieved something very special with our pickups, and thankfully, so far, everyone who has tried them also agrees.

RD's are not run of the mill..., some parts are off the shelf, however the important ones are hand made, hand selected or sourced from quality suppliers. I won't bore you with all the detail here, you can find a lot of info on the website which we are trying to expand as we go. We also have a twitter feed and a youtube channel with a few demos

The dream is to expand the business to a point where we can automate some of our processes while retaining the quality of our hand wound products, however expansion will not be allowed to compromise our basic principles of Value for money, great pickups and the best customer service you will get anywhere, and the assurance of a 100% smile on your face guarantee, or your money back!!!!!

We gave Kieran a night off this time and decided to give the great Pat McManus a turn, sorry about the shaky video on Black Rose, had to use the zoom and back away from the speakers to stop overloading the camcorder mic.

Pat is performing across europe in a couple of weeks, well worth making it to a gig if you can

HA! I don't believe it, Pat is actually playing a gig at my local club:

Sunday, May 09, 2010 - Tropic at Ruislip, Middx, UK -www.tropicatruislip.co.uk

EDIT: Because of venue double-booking (boo!) this gig has now been moved just down the road to:

GAA Club
West End Road
South Ruislip
HA4 6QX

I can't wait! Let's get some forum folk together for a few lemonades...

Best regards,
Darren
