EPI Casino MIJ- Terada or Matsumoku? Help...

Post by KONO-BOKU » Thu Sep 10, 2009 6:08 pm

Can anyone tell me how to identify which factory a Casino was made by the serial number? Also, approx. production dates for each factory and the differences in build or quality?

Thanks!

See pictured below two examples of Terada made Epi Casinos & notice the serial # scheme; no letters & 5 digits.

notice the body binding meets the (maple) neck @ the 17th fret

Super quality & great sound :D but the neck profiles are very thin :(

The Terada made Epiphones start in 1987 when Yamano took over the Gibson distribution and agency in Japan and contracted Terada to make them.
The Orville by Gibsons start in 1988 and Yamano got Terada to build them as well.

The Terada made Epiphones seem to have 5 digits with the first digit being the year.

Pre 1987 the Epiphones were made by Matsumoku and distributed by Aria.

I hope you have found your answer but if you want more information regarding that, you can find it about in https://reverb.com/item/3166408-epiphon ... s-sunburst website. Or you can also search for it online in google. I was reading some reviews about https://icasinoreviews.info/online-casino-games-nz/ which is an casino website. You have used casino word in your post and that is why it redirects me here.

Yes, this company was a huge success thanks to its partnership with Gibson
