On my LS70F Love Rock, when you look at the cap on the side, inside the pickup caities, the so-called "Sycamore" cap sure looks like thick piece of nicely grained wood, not a bunch of pieces laminated together. Can someone help me out with this? I was told that some of the LS70F models actually have flamed maple caps. What's up? Thanks.

The laminate is incredibly thin.
Under the laminate is a normal maple cap.
I have a LS70Q which is the quilt maple finish. When the pups are removed you can see that the maple cap doesn't line up with the quilt top centre split.
Nice finish but not solid quilt maple - I can't decide whether I care or not since the maple cap is glued onto the Mahogony back anyway so does it affect the sound???
I think you have to go for the LS200 or LS320 for the full on LP.

"Sycamore" is "Maple".

Don't feel that your guitar is superior/inferior just because it's made of sycamore/maple!
