What a strange way to sell. They both apparently have E pickups - though he doesn't show pics of the red one. Does this mean they are both ST80s?

And isn't an L serial number wrong on a maple board Goldie?

Incidentally, we are criticising the high price here - does this mean we are breaking the new directive about not commenting on price?

He had 1 of those guitars advertised as an ST80 a few months ago. When I asked him about that, he was defensive and left up the description as ST80 until recently.

Mike, the ST-80 Goldie that I almost bought (and should have) in Tokyo last summer had a maple board and a 'L' serial.

Strange. L serial numbers were what Fender used in 1964, so they are "correct" for a rosewood board guitar, not a maple. Wonder why Tokai changed that?
