More details of how it plays & sounds later.

Comments welcome.

It sounds great. Never used these PUs before - they are nice and bluesy - not too fierce but still breaks up nicely when played hard.

Forgot to mention nice case too...... :D

Very nice! I LOVE OBGs.....

What you said about the pickups is exactly my experience as well. All the PUs on my OBGs are bluesy and break-up very nicely which is exactly what I love. The 15-20 years of aging of the U.S. PUs and PAFs together with wood they used for the OBGs has really enhanced the excellent overall construction they were originally made with.

Nice collection Innadaze!

It's really light too for an LP - 3.7 kg

John,
I'd like to meet up sometime but the OBG is the only vintage Japanese I've got at the moment. My other electrics are a PRS Santana III and a Fender USA Strat.

Here's some simple widdles on each PU position:

Congradulations, very nice indeed! As soon as I get a tobacco finished OBG-LPS that nice, then I'll know what the legend is all about..

Thanks for your comments.

The colour is actually cherry sunburst but it's not nearly as red as many I've seen.

John, give me a PM and we'll try and sort something out. :p

Hi guys,

Does anyone know what these (HB-R & HB-L) pickups look like without covers? White, black, zebra?

Who cares, they look much better with the covers on :D

Well I kinda like the look without covers - guess I'll just have to have a look and see.

I've change the sound file in the previous post to reflect widdles on all pickups.

John, Guess I'll be able to see how it compares to your reissue :D

Dave

Thanks Innadaze. I'll give it a go at my next string change.

On another subject I've accidentally filed one of my nut slots too deep  I've done this lots of time before without problems but there you go.

At the moment I've got a bit of paper under the string. As a temporary repair I've filled the slot with superglue and re-filed it. Anyone got other proven methods?

Dave

Dave, get an old bone nut and a file, make a small pile of bone dust and mix it with superglue.
