Hi, i?m the new owner of a wonderful FRESHER Les Paul std.. The Guitar is pure MOJO! I think its a LS-800 Model, but i?m not sure. A few members may know this Guitar, it was shown on the homepage of 'villager' around 1 year ago. I need all informations about my new LP-Model. Here are a few pics, shot by the previous owner BIG ED(thanx!):

Fresher Guitars were built in Matsumoto-plant. They used a few different Brand-Logos on the headstock. I think this one is a 1978-Model, but i?m not sure. So please give me all your infos about Fresher Les Paul-Models.
THANXALOT!!!!

THANX japanstrat! I can?t believe that the 'Camel' and the 'Fresher' LPs are made at the same Factory ?cause the tailpiece of the 'Camel' is located on one line with the neck-vol.-pot, the 'Fresher'-tailpiece sits a bit 'nearer to the bridge'.

Depends on where Kyowa Shokai (Kyowa Trading Company) had them made. Kyowa Shokai had a close relationship with the Chushin Gakki guitar factory. The same factory can make different designs. Fujigen for instance were making Greco, Ibanez, Yamaha and Fender Japan at the same time in 1986 and not all Japanese guitars were made by Fujigen and Matsumoku. Chushin and Dyna and Kasuga made a lot of the lesser known Japanese guitar brands mainly because Fujigen and Matsumoku were too busy with well known brands like Aria and Ibanez etc.

Hi japanstrat,
thank you for sharing your knowledge! I do some research about the history and the quality-segments of Fresher Les Paul-type Guitars, looking also for some informations about the different headstock-logos, production-periods and catalog-stuff. Seems to be a 'hard road'.

****, your Fresher is a hot piece of wood. Congratulations man, it is an ultra rare one. I have seen one two years ago for $ 1.500.--

O.K., it?s a bit modified:
Former owner 'Big Ed' installed a set of DAVID BARFUSS 'Greeny Blues' pickups (reproducing the ultimate 'Peter Green-TONE' incl. flipped magnet out-of-phase -sound, neck-PU installed 'right' direction). The PU-rings are orig. Gibson Custom Shop Historic Reissue-ones, the top hat-knobs are self-aged Gibson replacement-parts. Tailpiece & bridge are aged Faber-parts, electronics upgraded with CTS-pots, NOS-russian PIO-caps,?50s-wired, Switchcraft jack & toggle-switch, Pickguard & bone-nut custom-made by 'Big Ed', self-aged 'poker-chip', pickguard-bracket, screws & amber toggle-tip, trussrod-cover from Gregor Hilden (german Blues-Jazz-Soul -Guitarplayer & vintage-guitar -seller). The former owner (between VILLAGER & Big Ed) sanded the neck down to the wood which created a totally different feel compared to the laquered ones. It?s smoothened and waxed. I accept & like it that way.

Best regards,
mojoburst

Congratulations!
Great ES-style Guitar! I like the rectangle inlays. Looks like a ?63-neck. Any infos ?bout the specs?

Well dont know that much ,dont even play  Bought it for my 13 year old sun .
It has some damage to the neck and the switch not working correctly.
But it still sounds great.

So now first dealing with the neck problem .The holes of the bottem 2 screws have wear so i drilled them out (10mm) and put glued some mahogany plugs in and when thats dried out a can start with replacing the neck tomorrow. Shall try to make some pics ( it comes in handy that i build wooden ships for 10 years)

So the plugs are in place, tomorrow im gonna glew a small wooden plate over the lower plugs about 1 cm thick to get some extra strenght for the screws.i know it looks a bid rude but that should be no problem. By the way i love that Les Paul model.

Are some guitars with comparable finishes out there? I?d like to see a few flame- or plaintops in butterscotch (s)unburst! Seems to be a rare color for MIJ-guitars. Please show your light?bursts, lemon-tops, faded bursts or unburst-tops! New or 'vintage'. :p :p :p
