ok here's something I have never seen before...

SOLID AAAAAA+ flametop, long tenon, fret binding, nitro is crackling, yet serial suggests 1990 which is impossible..

so either the 0 is an O for Order, in 1993/4 or its is a 1990 but with incredible features which didn't appear for another 3 years!!!

any suggestions ??

Looks like a stamped wrong number to me.
Bad day at the office.

It's got a reissue format serial Y XXXX which didn't appear until late 1992 and the look and features of the guitar are more late 1992-1995.

It also appears to be a Fujigen made OBG with no G Terada letter and it would have the Fujigen non diagonal down the right side wiring channel (any pics) and Fujigen didn't start making OBG's until mid/late 1992 for various reasons.

great day at the office you mean...heh..also the format of the stamp is different...but have you ever seen a solid top fuji-gen of that quality? I haven't.. in fact I have only ever seen 2 solid topped with fret binding, and both of those were terada's.. also both were kind of honeyburst too..

this is the first time i have ever seen a fuji-gen solid top with the long tenon and fret binding..if it is in fact Fuji-gen

will do pics of the channel...

The wiring channel routing doesn't remind me of the Terada or Fujigen OBG routing.

It's a diagonal wiring channel that's routed before the top has been put on.

The way the routing is done on this OBG is that the wiring channels have been routed before the top has been put on very much like what Tokai do but the pickup cavity holes are not square shaped like the Tokai ones are although one of the bridge pickup cavity holes seems to be square like.

On the usual Terada and Fujigen OBG's, the wiring channels have been drilled or routed after the top has been put on and the Fujigen wiring channel runs down the right side and the Terada wiring channel is diagonal.

Also the Terada and Fujigen wiring channels are circular shaped like a regular drill does but this OBG's wiring channel is more rectangular shaped like what Tokai do.

Maybe this OBG is a prototype or a special order made by another guitar factory.
That might explain it's odd serial number.

I've never seen a OBG like this one.

thats what I mean ..its like nothing I have seen before either, also the fretboard is very very nice tight grained with lovely streaks, and looks like all my Greco braz boards rather than any ObG indian board I have ever seen ..and the other wierd thing is unlike any ObGI have, the nitro is beginning to crackle...thats something I have not seen on any other ObG either...a strange and rare beast indeed...

oh and it sounds devine too...heh..

very nice; the top reminds me of a Tokai top :)

OBTW villager, I don't go to your web site any longer because the last two times I went there, that damned Spyware 2009 invaded my computer :-?
coincidence, or not, the only times it's ever happened to me ................

not my site m8..

its spyware free, checked every day...

I have nothing on my site in the form of ads or banners, and no external links whatsoever.. I am the only person who changes my site, and I sweep it automatically every day to checks for any spyware, so its not my site thats the problem.....

maybe its those sex sites ... heh..

A real beauty!!! But what's up w/those chrome pickup covers next to that sweet nickel hardware? That is just WRONG, IMO.

Interesting and very lovely top. What p/ups are in it? Anything custom with them or the wiring? Or the normal Gibson 57's with ceramic caps?

The top is drilled for pickguard. Any of the FM or QM models that I have seen - especially the Yamano's - have not been drilled.

Oooppss.. I see from you site that it has Rolphs. Scratch that question..

What an accusation! Mark's site is the last place I'd be looking at as the culprit - hell, he doesn't leave so much as a tracking cookie.

Here's a guide for getting rid of what I think you're talking about:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware-removal/remove-xp-antispyware-2009

You're likely to pick that up from a mis-timed click, and most likely from a site serving advertising from the people who make it.

Also, use Firefox and not Internet Explorer, and you won't be exposed to a tenth of these things.

it came with gibson 300k pots and old black caps, so I have completely re-wired it 50's style with matched 500k CTS and orange drops...

also I put the rolphs in, it came without pickups...

As I stated, "coincidence, or not, the only times it's ever happened to me" was on two occasions when I was clicking through Photobucket links, on the site.

The Spyware 2009 popped up immediately; I wasn't on a porn site, LOL .....................

EDIT: It was porn :p ; guitar porn  ................................

maybe it's because some, and the obg i own arent real nitro. To my surprise my 58 OBG flying V wasnt nitro at all. It's now being completely refinished in nitro, not that i really care, but the guitar needed some repairs and i got a sweet deal. It's also funny how subjective beauty is. That top really doesnt do it for me, altough it looks really special. I love wide flames and and plaintops with mineral streaks, this one is just too busy for my taste. But i bet it sounds great like most OBG's i played. (but never tested them all for nitro)
