Veener or solid maple top? How can I understand?

Hello to all :D
I need some help about maple top of my les Paul
I have read a lot of topic about guitar and his top in veener or solid maple but i don't know yet what i must see when buy a new guitar for understand if i have in front of me one or the other.
Someone can help me?

Look at the cavity from 45-degrees rather than straight on - you're looking to see any join around the top of the maple cap, or continuation of grain throughout the whole thing. Finally, check that the top's centre join lines meet up in the cavity; if they're offset a little, or even missing from the main body of the cap, it's a veneer.
