To be fair, it looks like he bought it as a mismatched guitar--a 1979 Springy should have a stamped fretboard instead of a sticker. It might be worth more in parts than as a mismatched guitar. Better to sell it in parts than to try and trick someone that it's original!!

Yep, it was pretty clearly a guitar that was misrepresented to him, when he bought it. I for one think it's completely proper to sell the pieces honestly... much better karma!
 
If I calculated correctly this seller got $680.75 for an ST-50 body with an ST-60 neck. And now a bunch of Tokai fans can fix their Springys correctly. Good karma indeed!
