hey everybody,i am thinking that this guitar is an ss42,would i be right in this assumption.How do they differ from the higher end silverstars and what would be considered a collectible one?Any help would be great.......Nate

Hi, I don't think any Silver Star is considered a collectable (yet).
The low end SS models like the 38/40/42 all had cheaper tuners, pickups, shielding and they used more bits of wood for the body and neck.
If you like the Silver Stars (I do) I recommend you go for a 48 or higher model.

You can never tell what a Silver Star will sell for over here in the UK. This SS36 just sold for ?400:

But I've seen them go for not much over ?200, for no apparent reason. Strange. :eek:

I for one wouldn't mind if they went up since I own one :wink:
But I think most people want the pre CBS models, copies or not.

Yea mrsuspend i do like the silverstars,i bought that arctic white one which turned out to be more cream than anything but a beautifully made guitar and the tone is amazing so i do like them and thanks for all replies...........................................Nate
