Nice. I didn't know there was a 70 - I've heard of 60s and 80s, not 70s. What are the differences between a 60 and a 70? E pickups I assume?

I notice it has an 11 hole 3-ply scratchplate. I thought they were only on the rosewood board models?

Hi Mike,i won't be able to find out more info for about a month, my Tokai friend is in the USA at the moment, i will find out when he gets back.
I actually prefer rosewood boards but this one was too good to resist..

Is it possible, that the pickguard has been changed? This one doesnt fit that well around the tremolo.
Havent seen a 70 either. Really strange, the neck is 2-piece.

Oh yes, surprising I didn't notice that! Most of my Strats have rosewood boards, so I guess I just expect to see a neck without the stripe. Strange though - I didn't know Tokai copied the later 60s practice of using separate maple boards on Springys, which were 50s copies.

Thanks John...Ruperts st 80 is the same except it has a rose wood board...
