Unless Croydon is a suburb of Dallas, I'm out. Sounds like a nice guitar porn photo shoot - be sure to take some naughty pictures of the dirty girl.

If it was, the music would be better! It's the wrong side of the river - the UK equivalent of your "wrong side of the tracks".

Still interesting though....

Are Guitarist doing a Tokai feature then ? Any idea what its going to cover ?

Thanks, I have been reading Guitarist from the first issue. Its a great mag but I can never remember them doing a really good detailed article on Tokai or other MIJ guitars like Greco, Burny, Orville or even Fender JV. It has only been villagers article a little while ago that I can ever recall.

It's for Guitar & Bass magazine, the one that did the article on Mark (villager) in December 06 in the Private Collection series - which is well worth reading. The guy is interested in Goldstars and Silver Stars too, so I'm taking most of what I have on Monday. I'm not sure yet whether the article is about Strats in general, or Japanese Strats in particular, but I'll keep you posted. I'll ask for the forum to get a credit too.

Ok, looks like Guitarist have missed out again. Marks original article was really good, responsible for me buying a few guitars... Hope he never runs into my wife

I do have mixed feelings about helping them. The more people who know about the Tokai Strats, the more they are likely to go up in price. But if they're going to do an article anyway, it's better that they do it properly and get their facts correct.

So we'll see.....

So ... it'll be another UK Tokai convention actually ... ??????

Why don't they do that on Continental Europe ??? It'd would be easier for me to be there ... :( :( :( :(
Roger

It's only a photo shoot. And as for the UK convention, that idea seems to be dead in the water.

What happened about this UK Tokai feature?? Is the article out yet?

We had a vintage Ibanez convention here in Oz back in December (07). I'm still waiting to see the article and photos from that. One of the mags here covered it and we were promised March 08 issue.....yeah rite'. :-?

Basically what I'm saying is don't hold ya breath.

I believe it's out tomorrow in the UK. I'm still waiting for my CD of the pics they took. As soon as I know more, I'll let you all know.

I just received the pics & uploaded them here:

I suggest we leave this thread, & continue any discussions about the article, pics, or whatever, in this thread:
