Interesting that the red one has ceramic pickups and a cheap capacitor - your blonde one has a Vitamin Q cap, and alnico pickups doesn't it John?

Apparently it does Mike, but I've been too busy playing it to take it to bits!! :D

dave2008 The value of a Revival Strat or indeed a Tokai will vary a great deal depending on which specific model it is. It's like saying 'how much is a Fender' ?120 - ?4000ish for a new one 2nd hand up to 50K!! Fortunately Japanese guitars havent got that silly yet.

I think Fernandes are possibly better value than Tokai simply because of Tokai's popularity you could pay from ?200-?500 for a Revival, just be careful you don't pay ?500 for one worth ?200.

If you can get some more info or pics I'm sure you will get some help on this forum.

Oh & thanks for the compliments on the guitar sound :D

Looks like you've got a RST-95G `57. They were made in the early-mid Noughties and the list price was around 95000 Yen. I had one briefly last year and sold it, it went for the bargain price of about $600 US.

It was difficult finding out much about this guitar, the basic specs are:

2 piece ash body
High quality electrics (CTS pots, CRL switch, Vitamin Q)
Iron trem block
Pretty sure it's not a nitro finish as I did the acetone test and nothing happened

The guitar had a lovely sound, I'm really regretting selling it now but I needed to offload it to pay for a Seymour Duncan DS-200.

Here's a couple of related links that I found:

Actually, on close inspection of the grain pattern in your photos, I'm pretty sure that you've got my old guitar!!

I originally imported it into the UK from http://www.guitartraders.com/ in Japan around the middle of last year.

From first hand experience, that is a sweet guitar that you've got!

It's a small world, I bought the guitar from another forum member, and I'm going to be it's last owner :D It's the best strat I've owned including a few that cost a lot more money.

I've only ever seen one other like it for sale and the grain pattern was a lot less figured than mine, I would love to know a bit more about who made the guitar. I know Tokai used to build for Fernandes, but whoever put the guitars together in 2005 knew what they were doing!
