I'm using a Rivera M60 1x12 for gigs and a Fender Blues Junior with a Jenson P12 for rehearsal and occasionally for small pub gigs.
I bought the Rivera unheard, on reputation, and love it. After about 3 years I changed the speaker from the Eminence (I dropped a screwdriver through the cone!!!!) to a Jensen P12n (flabby at volume) and found it a poor match so kept going and settled on a Celestion G12, it provides a lot more control and chime, it seems altogether better suited to the amp - 2x EL34's.
The M60 has a lot of different sounds if you care to explore them and has perhaps the first quality amp to emulate and cover much of the traditional amp sounds Marshall through Fender. I tend to set up the 2 channels pretty standard for all gigs - cleanish and drive, there is enough to worry about without trying new settings. I don't use o/drive pedals but do have a Tremulator, wah, phaser and chorus.
I have found that my ES130 needs a deal more treble from the amp than the Teles, as you might expect. I have to take care of this so don't swap mid set - I may play around with this and see if I can get it set up for all songs. it is less of a problem at higher volumes where the richness of the harmonics seems to sound good for everything!
What are your experiences in this respect, I imagine several of you have multiple guitars?
I've enjoyed this thread, I have a sneaking suspicion that a good amp makes more difference than a good guitar, heresy I imagine on this forum?
