Hi guys
DO YOU OWN A

1978 - 1985 Silverstar.

I need your help by getting info on your guitar.

7 digit Serial No: eg 9001122
full Neck Stamp : eg 7=9a
full Body Stamp : eg 7=9 GS Z
Pickup code : eg U
Neck & Board : Rosewood

I have a pattern that needs info to complete
You can post your reply here or sent the info to my email - along with any pics you may want to attach.
[email protected]
This info is of HIGH IMPORTANCE - those helping will be accredited for their input.
THE INFO WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANY OTHER PARTY - EVER!

many thanks
Peter Mac

Merci Volker,
this is exactly the stuff i require.

As springys only had 2 styles of pickup (U & E) it is easier to tell the model this way.
The Blonde finish is pretty rare too

Hey guys
thanks for the info,

so far the response has been slow - if we are to get a proper understanding of the codes and serial # then i need as many guitars as possible listed.
I am concentrating on the 7-digit serial numbers to ascertain a Year.
SilverStars are the only "Fender" model that continued with this 7-digit system after 1982 so they are of special interest, but certainly the Springys are important to cross reference the markings.

Hope more members will get on board with this

Hi Peter
1981 Springy ST55n
1) 1024158
2) 1=3 (no additionnal letters)
3) 12=5 (no additionnal letters)
4) U stamped pickups
5) maple, with skunk stripes

I can send pictures on request

*after removing the neck lately, i need to correct something,
digits on the neck are in fact 12=5 and not 1=3 like the numbers in body cavities as previously stated.
sorry my mistake

Thanks Marc,

every little bit helps.

Hope to hear from Breezy and SilverStar owners. These stats are important to create the pattern overall - not just with Springys.

The lettering is going to play an important factor.

regards
Peter Mac

Hi
Silverstar '79
on last fretboard there is a 36 stamp

1. SNo: 9007742
2. neck: 12=9
3. body: 12=9 B8 and some strange letter
4. pickup: no stamp, maybe they were changed?
5. neck: maple

hope it helps

Wow. . .
some great variety here.
Many thanks to those who have listed so far, hope it inspires others to post their baby's credentials also.
As only 84-up Silverstars had letters on the pickups, early SilverStars had
coloured wire - Blue/Blk; Blu/Wh or Blk/Wh.
If these colours could be included instaead of letters for the early Silverstar it would help determine the Model also.

Again, my sincere thanks for everybodys help in getting this finished as it is the last section of the book now being completed.

regards
Peter Mac
