just as a result of being bored after crimbo...
thought i would have a close look at the inlay material of my various vintage MIJ's....and a couple of new ones...

preliminary findings...

Tokais 1978-1980 LS-80-LS200 reborn and love rock.. looks like non MOP.., but new LS-320 Limited edition goldtop is MOP...
Greco EGF-1800's and 1200's ...all MOP
Navigators old and new all MOP
OBG ..Non MOP..

i would be interested if others can have a quick look to see what they have...

if its MOP there will be blue/purple/red in the spectrum..and very 3D

if just white and grey then not MOP....

abalone I think is similar...but not sure...anyone know how to tell abalone from MOP?

I've done some navel contemplation too Villager.

My un-serial numbered 2002 Les Paul Reborn Retrospec has inlays that move about like a hologam. They have a purple and blue tinge to them. So what are they made out of then ?

My LS320 has non-MOP and looks somewhat more "white" compared to the also non-MOP of my LS-150 which is more yellowish. My LS80s is also non-MOP and it looks like the chepest plastic they could have found with a lookalike MOP effect,-)))
I'm a little bit confused: how can there be MOP on a LS-320? I thought they are as accurate as it can be to a 59er Les Paul?

grey/white MOP == was collected after the Bikini Atoll test.

Can't remember if the test was french or american.

Btw: did you RUN the test?
:p
