1980 aria pro2 les paul standard, 3 piece mahagony medium set neck with rosewood board.
not only did customs nail me on this guitar but the truss rod seems to be rusted into the neck.
the brass adjusting nut is free, and the threads on the rod are very clean until you get below the washer, where there is visable rust under the fretboard. but the nut is not able to make it to this far. first, i incrementally backed the nut off 1/2 turn, but did not give any visable relief to the neck even after several hours. so then i tried to tighten it and when the nut reached it's original spot it became VERY hard to turn (1/2 turn over a 2 day period) and again, no visable change in the neck. i believe the rod has rusted to the wood. any ideas??
