Hi..

i'm hoping some body here knows a bit about the Burny RLG-70 Super Grade LP.

i can find info on the better RLG-80/90 and lower end models like RLG-45/50, but nothing on the RLG-70.

the sort of details i'm after are:
did they come with VH-1s ? seller claims it has VH-1s but it doen't have the little stickers to confirm this.
is the wood good or lower grade than RLG-80/90 ?
probably not long tenon.. but does that really matter so much ?

i can't seem to find any differences between this and the RLG-80's commonly sold online.

also there are 2 pics of paper work.. if anyone can read Japanese.

any advice you could give would be welcome.

thanks,
Shaun.

I found the same model on this shop's website.

http://www.hiranogakki.com/eg/060816/01/item.html

the shop says their RLG-70 was made in the early 90s and it has VH-1 pickups.

there isn't any useful info on those papers. they only say it was made by Fernandes and was sold by Shimokura Gakki, Ochanomizu.

that piece of paper on the left looks like one that came with a custom ordered Fernandes the Function I bought a few years ago...it`s not a regular production model and is stamped order made in the pocket and neck butt.
My point is this...on the card that came with the guitar, they wrote the model up as an ST-135...sold for 135,000 originally, quite a bit in the 80s, and on the other side of the card they`ve written...VS1 x2, VH4x1...the guitar is a s.s.h configuration, serial # 188. It has one of the best necks of any of my MIJs, fat and beautifully flamed one piece maple. Hate the Floyd on it but it`s such a great guitar and I got it so cheap that I live with the bridge, I just don`t lock it at the nut and the guitar stays in tune very well since I`m not big on whammy bars...only bought it because when I asked if it was MIJ or MIK...they didn`t know so I requested they pop the neck off to look inside and as soon as I saw order made, I said I`ll take it because I knew it was well above the average Fernendes and light years ahead of my other the Function...though it is also nice it`s really no match for the custom made strat.
So...does your card have any info written on it?

Sneakyjean, i don't have the guitar yet, i'm considering buying it.
i really wanted a Greco but cannot find a high end lefty anywhere
after 2 months of constant searching.

this burny looks like my best bet although i've tried to find something
else as i really don't like the finish on it. But i'm getting to the point
where i may have to just live with it as lefty's are just so bloody
rare !! :x

i was thinking maybe the RLG-70 is like the standard and RLG-80
was the custom ? i just don't know what the difference is between the
2 models.

the seller wants top dollar for it which i'm prepared to pay since it's
already in my country but i need to known if i'm getting a decent
instrument.

oh yeah.. the long tenon thing...how big a deal is the long tenon ?
as Burny's from what i've read don't seem to have it.

thanks.

OK...now that I can see it up close, at the top it says A in a black circle...I have the B part...I guess the owner sent the A part into the company. All the info I have is written on the part that is not shown and I can`t say if that was standard procedure since mine was a shop order. I`d add that the 70 model may be more of a middle of the pack guitar and not really a high end, bey certainly not a MIC low end either. Must be rough being a south paw...you know, for guitars `n stuff. Hard to say without seeing the guitar so it`s gotta be your call.
