Hi,

I've been at togps' home today and had to take this beautiful lady with me:

All I can say: Gottfried, you're the man!!!

This guitar sounds and plays just as sweet as she looks 8)

Wow!
I guess togps did it again! That is a stunner!
When will you fit in the H?ussels?

Please keep us advised of the changes in tone after you did that...

PS: Nice playing and tone on your sound files too!!

Hi Kappie,

I just finished installing the H?ussels, I also did the 50s wiring mod,
since I have that combination of H?ussel pickups (VinA2 neck, Angus
for bridge) on all my Les Pauls, the sound is/was no big surprise

Gottfried told me the spec list for the LS 150 says "vintage MK I" pickups,
I dont't know if these pickups are really MK I, they are unnamed like the MK II,
or if they are the same (MKII) as they came on my LS85F, they sounded
really good, but the H?ussels deliver more definition on the lower strings
and also a bit more dynamic range than the stock pickups.

Andi

Thanks Andi,

Maybe I?ll consider a couple of H?ussels too in future for my LS85Q or SG75. For now I am quite happy with the standard PU?s. Especially the neck pickup on the LS85Q sounds very open, warm and woody with good definition, but I am sure that this is also due to the quality of build of the guitar itself.
Guess things can always be improved, even my playing...

Wow

Another stunner. Gottfried, I'm glad you live no where near me because I'd come home with a new girlfriend every week.

Enjoy, Andi.....

I've just had another look at the pictures and in case I didn't make myself clear with my first comment - Gimme, gimme, gimme. :p

What a beauty, congratulation :D

Nice picture as well, is it the 50?s wiring on the picture ? What do you call that finish ?

Enjoy,

Anders

Hi,

it is violin finish, but it looks almost
as a lemon drop (the photos are a little bit too dark)

If I compare it to my VF LS85, the colour of the
LS 150 at the outer part of the burst is brighter, not
so much orange or brown in it.

What Tokai calls lemon drop today is - to me - what
i.e. Gibson calls "Amber" - it is way too much orange
or brown in that colour as in a real a lemon drop should be!

The picture still shows the original wiring (for the 50s mod I just
soldered the caps to the middle connection of the vol. pots)

Have the pickguard screw holes been filled?
Can't see any holes in the pics.

Hi!
Andi?s Guitar came with no pickguard mounted - no holes at all!

I was also at togps' home with Andi yesterday, and left with XXX guitars!

good on ya, "ACY"

P.S.: Had a very good salad, good beer, etc.................................

150s have no factory instaled pickguard,so no holes at all.I feel with a pickguard better, so I installed one too, it?s more elegant. Yours is more falmed than mine, but mine is older :D

Hi!
Anyone of you an idea, where to get nice colored push back wire, like installed in Andis LS150? Seems hard to get in a nice color, and not that boring black or white!
bye, "ACY"

Hi Luis,

I planned to put the pickguard on as soon as I got her but
I just cannot put a screw in this beautiful top! Maybe one day,
but for now she'll stay naked!

Hi!
Here some pics, being the result of our visit at togps' home!
good on ya, "ACY"

Yep!

The Cherry is a LS85F, and is for a friend of mine!

The SG is a SG75, and is the best SG I ever had! (and I do have a couple of them, and had a lot of different SG?s in my hands: R 61, Angus Young, 68 SG, 66 SG, ............................. )

The plain top is a used one from 2002! Togps had it hanging in a stand, and it "laughed" to me and said: "Come on ol?riff rocker, gimme a try!" And that?s it! - Wants to go on stage as soon as possible! (all I need is a cool drummer, who likes to kick some ***) ****

They all got very fine sustain, good dynamics and very good sounds!

good on ya, "ACY"
