There has been some pup changing. Do you know which one is original? If the bridge pup is original I would say LS-50.

no, i don?t know anything about it. the neck pickup seems to be the original one.

The neck pickup looks original, however the bridge looks as though it's been changed for an aftermarket pickup. So long as it sounds good, I wouldn't worry too much, as that's why we buy them in the first place isn't it? ;)

I'd disagree with the LS50, as they're the solid colour models, it looks to me as though it's an LS60, as it's a plain maple top. There should be some markings in the neck pickup cutout, but I can't see anything in the photo's, they're handwritten usually, giving the model no. but sometimes it is a bit hard to read.

I'm going with LS60.

How old is it BTW?

LS50 indicates a 3-pcs. top.
LS50 were available in colored as well in plain top.

I second that. This should be the first question

its a 1984 model, and it has no writing inside the pup cavity, that i can see, anyhow.

Yup, it is a 1984.
It is no LS80. It doesn't feature fret edge binding.
It is no LS60. In 1984, there were no LS60 available.
It is a LS50. Even it feature a 2-pcs. top
Good luck.

Please tell the forum, are you the buyer and maybe already the owner?
How much did you paid for it?
Or you are the seller?
How much do you ask for?

it has 2 piece carved maple top, one piece back. no fret edge binding (non of the LS-80 came without binding?), also, the "old sunburst" color did not come with the LS-50 right?
the head angle is 18?
it was sold to me as an LS-80, i just bought it, i?m a new tokai owner! i will reserve the price i paid for it (sorry). plays great, sounds better and is very light weight.

here are some more pics....

could be a refretted LS-80

if you hold her up in direct sunlight at a certain angle, you may be able to see the mark left by the sticker..its just under the serial number..50% of the time its readable under the right light..

mcv-looks like a LS60 to me-
does not make sence that there was a LS 60 in 1983 and in 1985 but not in 1984. ????

The Tokai PAF's are consistant with the 1983 thru 1985 LS Love Rocks.

Nice Guitar though ! You Slap some Burstbuckers in her or some old Demarzio's and there wouldn't be much differance between your guitar and a higher end LS120 (I'm talking about pre-83 LS120's) soundwise.

thanks ochay, i?m almost certain its a LS-60. it really is a nice guitar, i?m liking it more than my original 93 Les Paul, and the tokai PAF pickups sound really good! specially the bridge one.
