Yeah from time to time people get a in bidding frenzies over something they could probably buy for a lot less money - but it's eBay where you see stuff like this and conversely the DEALS OF THE CENTURY. Heck part of the whole bidding is a little like going to the casinos to gamble - there's the hope you'll score big !! We've all gotten really killer deals on something so you know how that aspect of eBay is. But the bidding frenzy over something you could walk into a store and buy for a lot less, that puzzles me.

These guys were bidding like the case had the original handwritten lyrics to SHE LOVES YOU in the casepocket...

Some people is getting mad! I'm getting very tired about how some people is asking in forums about his guitar and then putting on ebay for ridicoulous money.NOw,as Tokais and equal quelity guitars, people is gettin obscure brands just "because it's japanase" and some of these fake the guitars with a Tokai logo which I hate.Other are getting low end series of respetable brands like Greco which aren't regarded at least to me and expect to be fantastic guitars

Tokai makes (or at least supplies) some of the best cases on the market; if you've got a Les Paul-type guitar, you'd be hard pressed to find anything better. Don't know if I'd pay that much, but if I needed one, I'd be sorely tempted.

The cases are shown as a separate item in the back of the newer catalogues in the registry. Does anyone know if they can be purchased separately?

I haven't actually bought one but I spoke to somebody at Tokai UK last week and they said they had the tweed cases in stock which could be ordered through any Tokai dealer.

They probably are from the "U.K. Tokai Distributor", but are they Tokai cases? I strongly doubt it. A single neck support? - not interested. Check out the official Tokai ones in the back of the catalogues in the Registry. The LP180 for 18000 yen, whatever that comes to. It looks like they can be ordered separtely; I wonder what shipping form Japan would cost?

Mark my words - someday Tokai Gakki cases will be sought after!

Yeah, I have one of these cases myself. It came with an LS150. It doesn't say Tokai anywhere on the case and there is a tag with 'China' on the inside. It's quite a good case but not up to the quality you would expect from Tokai.

Not as much as Tokai underwears. I'm thinking about selling a few ones on ebay (limited run, as my laser printer runs out of ink). Prototypes, of course.

I think, on the contrary, the MIJ craze will calm down exept for the really collectable models (high end models from the best years) and a lot of people will wake up with a pain in the ***.

________
Extreme vaporizer

for les paul copies..:
greco super real egf 1000 and 1200
greco mint collection eg59-100 and above
(all with DRY PU's)
Orville by Gibson 93, 94 95 reissues..(fret binding and 57 classics..)
(and high unusually flamed tops from previous years..)
tokai LS 80 and up 1979 to 1983 (reborns having more demand )
Burny supergrades with good tops and VH-1 PU..
Fender JV

those are my predictions ..the best of the best..
not only collectable cos of the relative scarcity ...but also cos these are the ones that look and sound the best..

not to say that the plainer models of the Orville by Gibsons, or pre 84 tokai LS-50/60 sound any worse..they dont ..but people like rarity, and accuracy of reproduction..and beauty in a guitar..

the above selection have all those ..(well the mint collection don't have fret binding ...apart from a couple of limited edition 50 runs...but some players dont like fret binding ...)

the demand is from players, collectors, and lookers.

just my opinion ...but based on playing, and drooling over, all of the above
