There's so many others I'd like to add. I'm surprised I forgot Tom Verlaine, a guy who really doesn't get enough mentions for being distinctive. He's way more exciting than these guys who churn out replica blues solos in the name of authenticity...

my favourites would definatley be John Frusciante, Bert Jansch, John Renbourne, Eric Clapton and Nick Drake... out of anyone i've heard

Angus Young, Joe Perry, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Slash, Pete Townsend, SRV, Jimi Hendrix, Kirk Hammet

And myself :D

Far to many for me list! but as an avid Thin Lizzy nut! Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson were/are awsome!

Cant go without mentioning Stevie Ray Vaughan. 8)

Brian Robertson/Scott Gorham (!!!!)

Gary Moore

Ritchie Blackmore

Tim Pierce

Stevie Ray Vaughan

Angus Young

Zakk Wylde

Warren Haynes

Keb Mo

Ritche Blackmore !!

How could I forget?

I read a great article him in this months Classic Rock - The guy has just dropped completely of off the scene.

He's just off doing his travelling minstrel bit, while there seems to more renewed interest in Purple. I guess he's happy in his work, but what loss for the rest of us.
