Does anyone know what the 81-85 LS60 nuts are made of? ... Insert joke here!

Seriously... The one on my 85 appears to be bone or something of a similar consistency. I can't tell for sure if it's been replaced or not. Did they change the material over the years?

thanks!

So... Does anyone know what the standard issue nuts were made of?

It appears that the newer Korean models are plastic.

The very experienced tech who did a fret dress on my '84 LS60 was absolutely certain the stock nut was bone.

most of the early 80s and 70s tokai nuts are bone, at least on the higher end models (not sure about the rest)

It is bone !
They were breeding champion Canine(DOG) lines that had extra long toe nails-
clip um polish um-and file um to look just like real bone.....
