Hi Ned

Spotted this TST on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=882781261

Take a look at the logo - its a '7okai', but in script style not spaghetti. You have actually got one in your 84 section on the Guitars page at the Registry, but don't differentiate it as a distinct type. It seems to be particular to the angled headstock TST (as opposed to AST).
Anyway, just thought I'd point it out, as people often use spaghetti = '7okai' and script = 'Tokai' to help identify guitars. And it would fit nicely with the big F to have a transitional logo

Cheers

James

Very odd James: a AST-headstock shape with a TST letters. This is the first one I have seen anytime.I have seen a AST-headstock shape with a limited letter only I think could be a post-86 models and for Japanese market only.

I have a picture of one on the guitars page, its most likely a 1984 model.

I think I need to make that page more intuitive because I end up answering a ton of email that could be solved by looking at that page.

Ned,

I think the info is pretty clear, but its easy for people to just stick up a post or send an email asking for info on a Tokai and let someone else do the work for them.
Maybe you could have a notice at the front of this site directing users to the info pages at the registry and ask them to try and work out what they've got for themselves, to save on repetition of info, before putting up a post or emailing you. I'm sure if you word it politely it'll work

Yeh, I'm thinking about putting it on the FAQ and on the contact page.

Hi ned & James,
With regards to that logo, it seems to only appear on the U.S. shaped headstocks and around that 1984-85 period By 1985 all US models were AST56 or AST62 with the "Tokai" script.
I do concur that it is a transitional logo for the U.S. model only, though.

Peter
