1. Tokai rise all Japanese retail prices, i.e. a LS70 is now a LS75 and so on.
2. Tokai launches two handful new LS, LC, ES, SG models for the Japan domestic market. All in the high sophisticated (and over) level of *G* RI.
Absolutely stunning!
More soon!!

Yes, these are the first two pages of the new catalogue.
I'll email you more detailed pics.

One of the interesting news in that catalog for me is that the top Love Rock model LS380 doesn't use Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers anymore, but J.M. Rolph PAFs instead.

I tried to find some info on his '59 PAF model, but he doesn't mention it on his own site, and it seems that he's more specialized in Fender replicas:

http://www.cinternet.net/~rewinder/index.html

The reviews on the internet are also rather rare, here's a short note by Ken Fisher:

http://www.ultimateguitargear.com/ken_fischer_chapter2_2.htm

And a thread at the Les Paul forum which you might not be able to read without registration:

http://www.lespaulforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=98829

Anyhow, here is a Japanese online shop selling brand new Tokai LS290 models (not mentioned in the new catalog) with JM Rolph PAFs, too:

http://www.musicland.co.jp/shibuya/tokai-pes/
http://www.musicland.co.jp/shibuya/gakki-fair-line-up/~others.html

Next week when I have more time I'll try out the new Tokai/Gotoh PAF MK2 models in my LS120. Maybe I'll even manage to record some samples this time...

Here's the Google translation of it, it also describes the JM Rolphs a bit at the bottom, mentioning their price, too:

It seems that Musicland sells a special order Love Rock model with the LS290 (PES for Pacifix Exclusiv Series) with bookmatched plain maple top and high end specs otherwise. Might be interesting for those flamed/quilted top haters...

Hans, I forgot to mention: These new Tokai PAF's are Keiyo, not Gotoh.

OK, so these are the same that were installed in the Love Rock II that I tested a few weeks ago? I just measured their resistance, and it was basically the same (11.5 kOhm bridge and 7.5 kOhm neck pickup).

Hans-Jurgen

I've been told that the pickups in my new Sound Series Presto guitar are Keiyo pickups - Has anyone got info on them ?

Cheers

Chris

Nothing else than what I've already mentioned. Furthermore they are pictured on the last page of the new catalog named "new MK2" with a list price of 8,400 Yen incl. Japanese tax.

[Edit]
OK, here's the homepage of Keiyo pickups, it seems it's a single Japanese boutique pickup winder:

http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fpark15.wakwak.com%2F%7Ekeiyo%2Fhomeg.htm&langpair=ja%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8

There are some photos, but no specs available. And there's a BBS, too...
