Hey friends!

I'm new to the forum and could use some help. I'm currently looking to maybe purchase what I think is a LS-70 from 1993. The year I'm sure of because the SN starts with 93. The guitar is in great condition with minimal wear and feels and plays great but I could use some additional information. He's asking for 1500 dollars. Is that a reasonable price and does anyone know anything about the models from this year? Pickups for example? Pictures below!

Kind regards!

Looks like an LS70. Quilt top.

It’s a laminated top over a maple cap. I believe the body is twice piece mahogany. Poly finish.

Btw, I don’t think those pickups are stock. You should ask the seller what they are.

Thanks for the reply! So the Love Rocks from the early 90s are not quite in the same class as the early 80s then. I’ll be be sure to ask about the pickups but 1500 dollars seems a bit overpriced then? I’m also checking out a Burny RLG 70 and a Greco Super Real 850, how do those match up against the Love Rock? They all feel like high quality guitars in my opinion!

All the best!

It's a nice guitar. Tokai started using laminates on tops in 1981?

The laminate doesn't affect the sound, but it is priced very differently than a solid flame top.

I haven't had an LS70, but they were kind of the work horse of the line for some time.

And I don't have any Burnys so I can't comment on that.
