Thanks,

This guy "yoshiyuki kyutan" (beachboys0914) who sells all the tokais on ebay. He gets them secondhand from places in japan. What does anyone know about him / his guitars.

Ned he tells me he knows you and that. So what are your views on him.

Its just i keep wanting to bid on his springy sounds, but they seem a little odd. They may be fine - it may be my lack of knowledge. His springy sound was originally advertised as 1978 - then changed to 1981 (ok i s'pose). but looking closer the bridge saddles say 'tokai' on them, i thought they were always meant to say 'final prospec' and the tuning pegs say 'tokai' on them, i thought they were meant to say 'original'.

Does this sound okay. If so - cool. but i'd like your advice.

Martin.

Hi mbramble
Keep in mind that Yoshi's guitars are from the Japanese market, and older than a lot of the others being offered and there are always cosmetic differences over the years.
Personally, I would trust his advice as a lot of things he has told me, I know to be factual prior to asking the question.
The "final prospec" saddles are for '82 and later models meant for export, OK

regards
Peter

i just bought a 79 "les paul reborn" from him through one of those ebay auctions. the guy is totally ok, very reliable and the guitar was exactly like advertised. needless to say im happy with the quality ... he also answered a few questions i had with expertese so i think he knows what he is talking about most of the time. just keep your english simple ...

i think its just fair that these great guitars are being brought outside of japan, after all the vintage american guitars that ended up in japanese dentists "collections" ... if you know what i mean.

OK. Then this is someone that I have had a couple of email's with. Seems knowledgable about Tokai's but I can't offer much more than that.
