Tokai Cat's eye d-18e

Hi guys
I have aquired a Tokai Cat's Eye D-18E. But I can't find this particular model in Tokai's product registres or current line up. It's a dreadnought style guitar with a tortoise scratch plate and a Fishman prefix pro EQ

Does anyone have any information on this model?
I know it's modelled after the Martin D-18 model, but I can't find any info on production year, price, if it's still getting produced.

The serial number is 081854. And it's produced buy Tokai Gakki Co. Ltd, Hamamatsu, Japan.

Can anybody cast a light on the origins of this guitar?

I’m also looking for info on an odd labeled Cat’s eyes. Mine is a D28-E, a great guitar! So far yours is the only other mention I have come across. I see you are in Denmark, I live in Norway so maybe these guitars were only sold in this part of the world?

Hey, just going over some old posts and reading yours I realized the s/n on our guitars are only four digits off. Mine is 081859. I’m theorizing more and more that this was trial or limited run. I sent an email to Tokai yesterday and while I’m hoping for a reply, I’m not holding my breath!
