Thanks Peter. Lovely burst ! I love the color.

With your permission, I'll post a pic of your former 1983 LS-200
sometime in December.

I personally think that LS-200 has one of the nicest tops Tokai ever produced, but it was still a very smart trade.
If you saved other pics of it, please feel free to post them.

I'm going to leave what many would consider 5 stellar vintage LS-200 examples for last, and others will be posted from late 1979 through 1985.

Beauties reborn!
I found myself ogling as part of my vintage Tokai reacquisition quest. Thanks for still hosting the photos in their original places!

How can you tell what model they are if there's no sticker on the back of the headstock or no stamp on the last fret?

if the example is unmolested & retains the original pickups, this can help to determine grade.

also, some examples may be stamped internal/pickup routes.

So many beauties!

Not a flame top but not quite plain either, somewhere in between, figured top maybe? The grain really changes at different angles.

1979 LS100 OS refinished into some sort of lemony burst.

Thanks to Wulfman for hosting the pic :D

Pictured here is the 1981 Tokai LS-60 OS that I recently acquired.

The maple top is completely covered in 3D flame & figure, and also contains several hundred very small birds eye.

The photo does not do the maple top justice; it looks much more impressive in person.

It's difficult to believe Tokai put this maple top on a LS-60 but I'm glad they did. :D
