There's also this new model, basically the previous GS models now incorporated into an AST model.
The H/S/S pickups in the GS models were amazing.
It will be available in SEB or regular Alder or ASH (no SEB).

The one being demoed here is SEB (ASH) with the Maki-e paint finish.
The Maki-e Japanese paint technique is a Japanese Lacquer and Gold powder finish first developed in the Heian period (794–1185) and blossomed in the Edo period (1603–1868).

The Maki-e Japanese paint technique really looks interesting. The hummingbird demo works for me but sadly for some reason the new paintjob strat styled one doesn't :(

The Maki-e paint job comes with quite a hefty price up charge.
I think I'd order them without the Maki-e and without the SEB.
I've had the GS models before and they were amazing, great pickups with a coil split switch and VS100 bridge.
However the GS models weren't a regular Strat shape, this new model is pretty much AST108 Strat shape.

Thing is I can't think of what colours to order keeping in mind the pickup colour is black with no white option? :)

So the single coils don't have covers ?? Hmmmm tough call.

They have black covers. :)

Looking for ideas as to what body colour and scratchplate to use with black pickups?

Tokai's two tone or what i believe they call golden sunburst is very nice and would fit black pups nicely. works with maple or rosewood boards as well. I like to see the wood grains though myself. Olympic white or an aged ivory with rosewood board is another of my fav's for a solid finish. Lake placid blue or a dark green could also work with black pups to my eye. Black pickguards to match and matching headstock would be sweet . I'm also almost 50 years old so i'm not sure i'm in your target group.
