Not totally clued up on basses, but that logo style was introduced in 1984. An '81-82 would have a spaghetti logo, an '83 the black block letter logo. By '86, the headstock shape was changed, though there were possibly/probably non-export models made with the standard headstock around as well.
On guitars, the serials were changed in 1982, to a vintage Fender-like format, i e four digits on early 50's models, five on mid-late 50's ones and L+five digits on '59 and later pre-CBS models. This seems to have been changed to a six-digit format at some point later in the 80's. Not too sure about basses, but this looks like it could be '57 or so copy? In that case, the serial makes sense.
My bottom line would be that this is likely a '84-85 instrument, not earlier, likely not later. Hard to be sure, though. _________________ '82 Tokai ST-60,'85 Tokai TTE-60 TM, '78 Fernandes FST-60, '87 Burny RLG-90, '88 Burny RLC-60, late 80's Burny RSA-100, '94 ObG LPS-57C, '66 Fender Tele, '95 MIM Fender HSS Strat, '11 Schecter Hellcat VI, '74 Ibanez Concord 693 Dove |

Thanks for the answers. Yes, this is '57 replica. In every way, good bass. Neck profile is very nice to me, quite narrow and thick. Pickup is litlle muddy, maybe later I change it to better. |

I remember missing out on a PB0. Stupid of me, since these were suppose to have nitro finish and even maybe a one piece body?. Whatever, I just wish I'd pressed the buy button faster back then, as it was sold pretty quick.
Too bad, but huge congrats for you, that's IMHO probably the greatest P-bass you'll ever encounter save for real vintage pre -CBS Fender stuff. _________________ "What, another one? But for God's sake why, they all look the same?!!" |

Thanks. Yes, it looks like one piece body, and finish is nitro. I had really good luck with this. I haven't see any PB80 for sale in Finland before this.
I think these older MiJ instruments are the best value for money. |
