so, I have been looking @ Crews Les Paul type fiddles for a very long time & wondering when is the right time to bite?
for me it is all about build spec per $$$ but I have seen multiple build levels & price points of Crews LPs & for quite a few years
currently I have been very interested in the Crews NEXT 5D line which is another Crews 'limited edition' line
here is a current Digimart link for nine Crews NEXT 5D models
https://www.digimart.net/search?category12Id=1&keywordAnd=Crews+NEXT+5D&x=0&y=0
so, does anyone here know anything about the NEXT 5D line, and what say yee? Is this a Deviser (Bacchus/Aska) make, or a Terada product? Anyone here know? |

Looks like Terada-made guitars to me compared to the Limited model I had before. |

Hi wulfman & thanks for your input
was your limited model Crews also a Terada make, or was it from Deviser?
what did you like about your's & what did you not like?
Thanks again |

Thanks, that is good to know villager; glad you rate them so highly.
I ended up purchasing the least expensive NEXT 5D example from Music Land Key. It had the NFS pickups removed but the price was 2 1/2 times less expensive than the 345600 yen priced examples. Can't see a set of pickups being worth $1900 unless maybe they are real PAFs
The listing stated the original NFS as removed & in place are "Crews original." If the pickups don't ring my bell I have plenty of old Greco pickups here to try; Double Trick, PU-2, Dry Z, etc. |

Thanks this will be my first Crews
Just found out it is 4.25 kg. or 9.35 lb. so, a bit heavier than I prefer but I have other LP types that are in that range that are pretty damn nice
looking forward to the '30 year air dried' lumber to see what that's all about
should be here in about one week, or less |

It was built right in the first place and I bet it will have it's own voice by now!
I wouldn't worry too much about the weight.
I had an LS320 that was seriously heavy, I mean too heavy for me, but it is the best recorded "Les Paul" sound I have ever achieved.
I never weighed it but yours is more the average LP weight so enjoy.
It doesn't matter how old I get......waiting for a new guitar to arrive is like Xmas morning!! |

I like the idea of getting a new guitar & Xmas
Just had an EMS arrival from Japan this morning; a 'custom order' Tele Custom (body binding) with a 2 piece center seam Mahogany body, maple neck w/Ebony slab fingerboard, Seymour Duncan 59 humbucker in the neck, and a Van Zandt single coil w/hot plate in the bridge
Nuthin' like Xmas in May
if the Crews NEXT 5D shows up B4 next Thursday that will be two Xmas in one month |

The Crews NEXT 5D arrived today; I actually went to the Post Office to pick it up myself.
Strange thing is the guitar I received today is NOT the guitar Music Land Key had pictured in their Digimart listing WTF? TWILIGHT ZONE stuff here folks
EDIT: I contacted to seller to see what happened; more later? |

So, as previously reported Music Land Key sent me the WRONG Crews NEXT 5D
the one I ended up getting is serial number 5D LTD 09 (#9 of limited production of 20 pieces)
See below a link to the guitar I received; it is the third one pictured, and just below it there are more photos too. It has the ATB (antique tea burst) top color.
It even has a photo of the head stock reverse with the serial number visible.

Here is a MLK link that shows the guitar I was supposed to get, pictured second from left in the first row & then second from right in the second row.

I am currently attempting to find out if the guitar I was supposed to get is still available. |
