Hi Iamyat, welcome to the forum! Like your guitar and the interesting way the colours have aged. Where are you from? You can add your location to your profile so we know where you found this lovely guitar.

OW colour code is Olympic White but sometimes stated as Old White or Off white (I'd need to check the catalog section). I cant really answer your question but would guess that it is a lover end SS as it does not have the split post tuners which came with the higher ST models.

I'm assuming that the sticker at the base of the neck has gone :)

This is a lovely completely original 1980 Silver Star. There will be a stamp on the last fret of the fretboard indicating the model number.

Hi iainblack, thank you for your advised my profile location updated for Thailand, bangkok , agreed with you about the aged color on it this is the first thing i look as it and then ask for the price :) For your mentioned on the tuner can you check on my another pic below, course i think this is split post tuners or not? finally i wonder how you know that on the sticker behind head stock It's surprise because i see some glue are remain and i have no idea what is that sticker post any info about this guitar?

No it should be a 2 digit stamp (impression) on the fingerboard after the last fret

Should look something like this (where this is an ST-55) https://www.google.de/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjisb-WkdjSAhXQhRoKHXCBCs8QjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.japanaxe.com%2FphpBB3%2Fviewtopic.php%3Ft%3D546&psig=AFQjCNG6RHKKFKdaOsFEQvIIHvSfj3Etkw&ust=1489654386802573

Iamyat, I am a regular vistor to Thailand, i try to get to Patong beach every 2 years. I didnt realise that Tokais were on sale in Thailand. Here is the summary on Silver starts from my book that will help.

The stickers of the model number were at the base of the neck where it meets the body (black oval sticker and I think accompanied by a 'made in japan' sticker (oblong)

In terms of tuners this is a picture of a split post kluson:

Hi guys,

This appears to be a 1980 SS-48 OW made in Japan.
Body will be Alder, pickups are genuine, transition single coils (before they put 'S' and 'H' stamps on them), routing is original. The colour makes it an SS-48. Had it been MR, MB or SG it would be an SS-50.
Body stamp placement is correct for 1980 as is the white scratchplate - all other 1980 Silver Stars had black scratchplates.
Suki : the stamping of Model numbers on the fingerboard after the last fret was discontinued at S#00095xx and this is 0011xxx
Great guitar, enjoy

Peter Mac
