Hi all,

New to the forum, bought a MIJ Love Rock recently and very happy with it. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify what model it is? The serial is 0408291, the registry says that it is a MIK however I think this is wrong. The last owner installed some Seymor Duncan APH-2s on it. Here are some pics:

Eveything except the slotted bridge posts says MIJ loud and clear.

Obviously the pickup rings, switch tip/ring and bridge assembly are new too, so it's likely the bridge posts are not stock either.

It plays really well and seems to be great quality, stays in tune etc. Any idea how I'd tell what model it is, ie LS150, etc?

Nice axe. One sure fire way to find out the model number is that the higher end models will have a one piece back.

Take out one of the pups and see if the top is a solid flame top or a veneer flame top. If it's solid you should be able to follow the grain lines into the cavity like this. Starting in 2004 Tokai had a special run of LS150F models.

I opened it up, still not sure if it is as you say? What you reckon?

Well its a MIJ 2004 Tokai export model. Yours has what looks like a flame veneer. If it has a one piece back that means it's a LS150 although i'm not all that familiar with the U.K. export models. Hopefully someone from the U.K. with more knowledge will chime in on this.

Excellent, thanks for your help- you've put me on the right track! Hopefully someone in the UK can help shed some more light on the exact model
