It's only the "Orville by Gibsons" that came with Gibson pickups.

The Orvilles came with generic pickups, and the ones I've tried are not that bad IMO.

If you want to change the pickups then there are loads of different pickups from Seymour Duncan and DiMarzio and Gibson and others.

I think Tonerider pickups are pretty good.

The type of pickups to buy depends on what you want.

A PAF type of pickup is what came originally in the Gibson Les Pauls and is a great all purpose pickup but if you want to Rock then a DiMarzio Super Distortion might be the way to go.

Pickups in a guitar are only one part of the tone and how the guitar/pickups match with amps and speakers and effects affects the final tone.

Does the Orville come in any other colour than black?
