The Stormy Mondays are very open/vintage sounding, don't know what tone you're after.
I have them in my ES-335, would look for more punch in a LP.
 
By the way the Reverend BFG plays 008 strings. Or even skinnier. That's due to his health. Sounds pretty mean and powerful still.
I play .046 / .010 as well but you can fool around with string tension adjustment quite a bit in setting up a LP.
 
Update:
I now use Gibson Les Paul Signature strings (0.09-0.46), so smooth!

New nut from Graph Tech and a set of Gibson Burstbuckers 2+3, to my humble opinion they do sound brighter than the stock pickups.

Anyone (in the neighbourhood) interested in the stock pickups?
 
The final version:

with Gibson historic washer, pickup mounting rings, pickguard and toggle switch cap.

Also replaced complete wiring.

Only originals are body, neck and pots.
