it has serial on the neck plate and on the head

The black plastic edging around the neck plate is very reminiscent of 1980's MIJ Squiers!

Yes the one linked by Felix, is Chris' former ST.
Only 5 models apart and both have 1982 serial numbers on the neck plate. So probably preproduced for 1982.
Funny thing is that the neck plate serials are 25 models apart.

Correct designation is ST-70S OW. They first appeared in 1981 and ran till the end of 1982.
Essentially an ST-60 with upgraded gold hardware and coloured headstock, although the necks - both maple and roswewood - are 'C' profile.
It came with 'E' pickups, 2pce alder body and enclosed machine heads.
I've seen 3 over the last year, 2 x 1981 and 1 x 1982.
The 1982 catalogues Vol5 and Vol 6 lists the ST-70S and shows the 4 colours they were available in but give no other details.
It also had the E.T. bridge.

hope this helps
