The usual emblem on the headstock is like a potted flower, this one is different, anyone know where guitars with this emblem come from and the year range?

Is this the one you are looking at ??

Long story short... Made by Dillion in Korea.

No the one I looked at is more an es335 copy but it has the same emblem, but the owner says that it is from the mid 90's and that has me confused because I thought that the Dillion Canada ones were only made between 2003-2005.
Is it the emblem that is the give away that is Dillion?

To add to my confusion I saw this somewhere in the forum:

Plus Korean Tokai's don't have serials IIRC, is this correct guys?

No that's not correct. Only the early issue MIK"s (mid to late 90's) had no serial number..... after that, they do have serial numbers. That info is in the Dating and ID section of the forum

So the guitar in question that I am looking at does not have a serial number or Made In on it and according to the owner dates to the mid 90's, in which case if the above is true then it cannot be a dillion but an actual MIK Tokai???
Does not matter to me either way as I am to unsure to buy it but my curiosity prevails

I say go have a rip on it, if you love it and its well made, buy it, just don't spend much on it, its not a MIJ Tokai, not really a Tokai at all. The guys that posted before me are extremely knowledgeable about Tokais and Japanese guitars. If they both say somethings fake, it is. At best its a Korean 335. Plenty around to choose from, i've heard that Dillion guitars and epiphones are now being faked outta China so be careful, its a strange world.

It's actually very easy.
The headstock shape is non Tokai, the logo is non Tokai, the emblem is non Tokai, the truss rod cover is non Tokai, the fretboard inlays are non Tokai. That model was never produced by Tokai.
The nut, bridge posts, trc and fretboard inlays are a give away for Korean origin.
Never heard of Fake Tokai's during the 90s, most likely made in the 00s.

This is the one I am referring to, I believe you are looking at a gretsch copy.

If what you say is true then the comment posted about the Korean made ones not having serial numbers for awhile in the 90's is not true?

Without being able to see the full headstock in the actual blue 335 you are talking about, the Grover tuners are a dead give away to this one (minus the Bigsby of course)

Canadian Fakai

One last thing Ozeshin says its definitely not a Dillion, how is this determined?

If I recall, the Dillion factory only made a few models - mostly Les Paul variants. Found this old post from another forum that ties in a Canada/China connection:

The Canadian dealers used to do that crap with Tokai too. There are MIK Tokai guitars you can get from Japan and Europe. Then there are, or were crap ola Tokais that came from Canada with peel off labels. These were merely Musoland/Payless Chinese fakes before the Chinese started just selling them direct.

No, why?
The first legitimate made Korean Tokai's did not have a serial number, those were 90s Les Paul models.
