FWIW my ST80 (which I decided to keep) has the rosewood veneer fingerboard on a vee neck with a skunk stripe, exactly as described, with all other markings etc falling in line with what it is - an st80 I bought new in 1980.
And it still sounds and plays better than any 1980 Fender I have ever seen (grin)

given tht you have owned it since brand new in 1980.. do you if the body and neck codes match?? that would be incredibly useful information. also - pics! :D
 
so its here... its amazing!
theres a VERY faint "80" stamped in the last fret.. can't get it on photo with my iphone i am afraid. codes match exactly.
weighs only 3100g (6lb 13oz)... super resonant

Only just seen youre request for info on my 80. I am in france and the guitar is in UK. I will sort out details when I get back in early april, but there were photos on here when I was offering it for sale last year if you hunt in the classifieds.

Since that time, I received a LOT of education on Tokais, etc.
