Does anyone have any information on El Degas guitars which were made in Japan in the 60s, 70s and 80s and distributed in North America by Buegeleisen and Jacobson (New York and Toronto)? Any information would be gratefully appreciated.

I don't know anything about them.
I don't think mine is MIJ, but I like it anyway. Deep wine red with chrome.

It is listed in the 1973 El Degas catalog as "863 solid body guitar. The original solid body design that has been proven for over 20 years, now at an incredibly low price".

List price in 1973 was $150.

This guitar has a beautiful maple neck. The fretboard is birds-eye maple with abalone fretmarkers.
