Hello forum,

How many Tokai Strats do you own ????

Me, I have only 2 now ST-65 MB and ST-50 OWR both 1982.

I am really interested in pre-86 Goldstar and Springysound models
and who has the biggest collection.

So guys and gals, be honest and show your bragging rights.

regards
Peter Mac

Now be honest - are the 25 all Tokais ?

....and why haven't you added photos???? unless you're like me and can't figure it out either.

regards

Yes, all tokai strats!

I've started cataloging and dismantling them/photographing, then posting them on here.

Sadly, I haven't had the time the last couple of months, but I'll probably get round to some of them soon. Then I need to get them all together in one place for a group shot.

Some of them are in cases out of sight, most of them are scattered around the place, much to the annoyance of the missus.

However, I just went round with the camera phone just now and took some pics of the ones I have out of the cases:

Its a direct link from the photobucket site - I don't see how the link itself can have a virus?

After I opened the link, I got one of the "your computer is infected with a virus.... clean computer now" worms that will not let you close it and it tries plant itself on your computer. Then my antivirus sent up a warning.

i've only got the one now, 1984 st 60 (seen many times on here), but i can
at least vouch for two of suki's tokais. :D

I have a couple of ST-50s now: '83 Springy Sound that I've owned from new and an '83 Goldstar. Both are BLOCK logo.

When the Springy is back from the luthier, I'll post a mini-group shot.

FWIW, I also had an ST-80 from '79 or so (can't recall from memory), but I offloaded it after a while when I realised it wasn't a significantly better guitar than my ST-50 (different neck profile, of course).

Edited to add: not sure if that aristocratic blues player still collects Tokais, but he was certainly buying up a few Springy Sounds about 10 years ago. Was he ever a member here?

Hey Luis. No, I mean genuine old-fashioned British blue-blooded aristocracy: The Honorary Roland Augusto Jestyn Estanislao Philipps.

He has a rather more blues-friendly stage name! ;) Todd Sharpville: http://www.toddsharpville.com/

Has played and recorded with many Blues greats, and called when I once advertised my first Springy Sound for sale. Seems he has 3 Tokai Strats nowadays.
