My first attempt:

Mind you, I?m not a carpenter, nor do I have any wood making machines.

Felix, great work.
I would suggest putting on the bottom and sides any kind of soft cloth or the like. I just put a so-called here "fieltro"
http://www.google.es/imgres?imgurl=https://ecom.amenworld.com/WebRoot/ce_es/Shops/210677/MediaGallery/IMG_3133.JPG&imgrefurl=http://www.o-karamba.es/&h=2112&w=2816&sz=657&tbnid=xscsf0SUtCwbAM:&tbnh=93&tbnw=124&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dfieltro%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=fieltro&usg=__2LPxr-xdwiEecSmsEHYbg-q1Mpg=&docid=yMctPoOklGPzPM&sa=X&ei=-zKfUeKNA-fB7AaG0ICYDA&sqi=2&ved=0CD4Q9QEwAA&dur=266

It has some adhesive on the back so it is easy to fit.So the cases will not be ragged or scratched.
