So you're the one who beat me out huh? I swear I sent them an email the day it went up. You must have sent it the MOMENT it went up!....lol...

Probably for the best anyway.....I was pretty sure after having some days to think it over..that I would have declined it....not because it's not great guitar but I already have my 250 pro with maple.....I would prefer a 280 rosewood but don't seem to have your luck with those. I never see them come up online.

In fact, I emailed a friend of mine, who owns a White DS-185M.
I honestly already have a sufficient number of Vintage Pros.

Furthermore, I won't say the DS-280M is 'better' than the DS-250M, but the feeling and spirit is substantially different. The attention to detail seems closer. Later Pros are in a way more close to current Navigator strats.

BTW... There's a rosewood curved board here on YA. Most probably an order [first pic, between '2nd' & (k)]... Looks like a pro, even if the finish on the neck doesn't match on the few pics... Yubi Lab Neckplate, changed pickguard, saddles and backplate. Maybe a good one, however. ^^

Yeah I saw that one....very nice alder body....looks like it could be one of the first of the SD's.

I think I want to be a bit of a snob and hold out for a 280 that I can verify. It's not like I really need another guitar anyway....so I can afford to be patient.

Hello everybdy
i did not post from a long time. still alive !
last month i just came to look at the different posts and now i am proud
to show you my last baby i.e this beautiful Seymour Ducan Strato DS280M Pro.
it is really a fantastic guitar with a very light weight of 3,03 Kgs !
nice lutherie and nice sound.

Hello !
yes i agree with that . i have already a DS vintage pro 185 from 91

Really nice guitars.
i would like also thanks my friend Japanesevintage to give me the info
regarding this sale on Ubox as he knew that i was looking for a 280. :D

Very nice catch megadrive!
Antiquity Texas Hot pups, 'all lacquer'... Your Vintage Pro strongly ressembles a late 250... possibly, maybe.

280 pickups should be Alnico pro II beefed up according to the catalog.

Which one?

which catalog?....the one linked in the very first post of this thread.

I realize the catalogs are not always right...but still....it's at least a guide of some kind.

seriously though....SD should really stamp their pickups....it would be nice to know for sure what's in my 250.

The archived website is right about the pickups.
As I wrote, the latest 250 were equipped with Antiquity pickups.
You can contact them if you want to know what's in yours.

I have a Seymour Duncan DS-200 w/ original case and paperwork in LPB..that one is staying in the safe

In most cases, they were sold... without case. I hope you don't preserve yours too much.

The ones I saw in the Monkey Business shop always had cases, my oldest Duncan has the blue gig bag. I remember the blue ones...there was a Burgundy Mist in a local used gear place recently, matching headstock and beautiful fretboard...someone bought it for a great price, 78,000 yen.
