As I expected, 'DS-280M' is written in the neck pickup cavity. The guitar is in very good shape, despite its aged appearance. It sounds awesome.

:D

I just see they aged like Navigators NST line, have to be very carefull because nitro does fall off easily.

On the basis of what I have seen so far, this unsealed lacquer is even more fragile.

Here's what they called the 'Comfort Neck Grip':

yeah i believe that's refereed to as scalloping the fret board edges. Nice touch. Bacchus do that on their empire model.

Although personally I don't mind either way. Angled, rolled, scalloped...it's all good.

Nice Nav Tele and Strats guys.
Nothing is better than a non sealed non grain filled finish.
That is how I refinish all my guitars...I love feeling and seeing the wood grain, keeping it in its natural state...not all glossy and smooth.

Here's an interesting Duncan, lipstick pickups a'la SRVs Charley:

I've noticed it hanging on the wall on some videos from the Seymour Duncan Channel, but here it actually gets a work out. Guitar playing starts about 2 mins in.

Though I have sold over 50 of my guitars over the past 2~3 years, no plans on selling my Duncans...I will keep only the best of what I own and they are among them...even the Traditional strat.

This is precisely why I purchased mine.

Very nice!

Probably needs a refret, but the price remains reasonable for such a quality (as it's available for export).

I paid 79,000 JPY for each of my DS-280... but they were only available locally.

Yes...thats the price of the ones in a local used guitar shop. Several years ago I paid 40,000 yen for my vintage standard strat...from Ishibashi...those days are gone.

In the end, the DS-280M from Ishibashi is expected to arrive in France next week.

So you're the one who beat me out huh? I swear I sent them an email the day it went up. You must have sent it the MOMENT it went up!....lol...

Probably for the best anyway.....I was pretty sure after having some days to think it over..that I would have declined it....not because it's not great guitar but I already have my 250 pro with maple.....I would prefer a 280 rosewood but don't seem to have your luck with those. I never see them come up online.

In fact, I emailed a friend of mine, who owns a White DS-185M.
I honestly already have a sufficient number of Vintage Pros.

Furthermore, I won't say the DS-280M is 'better' than the DS-250M, but the feeling and spirit is substantially different. The attention to detail seems closer. Later Pros are in a way more close to current Navigator strats.

BTW... There's a rosewood curved board here on YA. Most probably an order [first pic, between '2nd' & (k)]... Looks like a pro, even if the finish on the neck doesn't match on the few pics... Yubi Lab Neckplate, changed pickguard, saddles and backplate. Maybe a good one, however. ^^
