hi james
Blue Suede Music in the UK had a Tokai ad around 1982 titled 'Tokai is Coming'
It depicts a naked woman lying back with a "springysound" between her legs and chest whilst licking the end of the headstock.
Very Provocative!
Some of the older Music magazines may still have a copy of this ad - if you get the time to enquire.
From experience, I know that most mags run product reviews in issues where ads are booked

Guess what...I found the ad amongst a whole lot of Tokai price lists, pamphlets, etc that I had in storage.
I have scanned it along with other ads from the early 80's and will send them to Ned for posting
regards

I'm glad you're going to do that as I was thinking the same. I have Blue Suede Music price lists from 1984 that I was going to scan. Are your lists earlier or later or, did prices change little around this time to warrant posting prices up from different years? |

Hi Lee,
My price lists are wholesale ones from 1983, 1985 and 1986 that are given to dealers. All are in Australian dollars and include the Traditional series, Talbo and Original series and effect pedals (not '83)
The AUS$ was worth around 400yen in 1983 and fell to about 250yen by 1986 so the prices did change quite a bit over the 4 years, to the point where some of the high-end models were dropped from the range as they became too expensive.
regards

Hmm, can't seem to find it, what a pity... It should be on this page, right?

OK, now the links work again, but still no "naked woman lying back with a "springysound" between her legs and chest whilst licking the end of the headstock." _________________ ZZee ya, Hans-Jürgen
