Doyle was a good man. He will be missed in these parts.

Sad news. In Step has always been my favourite SRV album, largely due to the great songs co-written with Bramhall. Along with the incendiary guitar work, of course.

R.I.P. to a great songwriter and musician, SRV's cover of his song "Dirty Pool" on his live at Carnegie Hall is one of my favouites.

Man, there were so many he wrote that Stevie did:

Lookin Out The Window
Tightrope
The House Is Rockin
Scratch and Sniff
Life by The Drop


Doyle actually coached Stevie on his singing.... Stevie said he had the greatest voice of a white dude that he'd ever heard and he tried real hard to emulate Doyle's style.....
