My # 1
Sure when I get a minute Ill have to upload more. Early 80's.
This guitar is incredible. This is what the Japanese sprayed Black over. It was originally Black and my Tech noticed something underneath and said can we scratch some paint off the pickup cavity, I said sure. And Voila!!!!!!
If you close enough you can see I had a grueling night performing with this baby. Its covered in blood.

Superb guitar El Phantola, as one would expect. More and larger pix needed urgently.Phantom wrote:I couldn't believe it. My tech has compared this guitar to his real 59 burst. You should see them side by side Jacco.

How does it stack up against your Tech's 'Burst, is it all original and what exact model is it - we need answers!!
Thanks for posting it - it really is a beaut!! You should do the side by side shot and post it on the LPF for a laugh - that should ruffle a few feathers!

That would be excellent!!spikeymikey wrote:Superb guitar El Phantola, as one would expect. More and larger pix needed urgently.Phantom wrote:I couldn't believe it. My tech has compared this guitar to his real 59 burst. You should see them side by side Jacco.

Hey Emiel I'm working on the pics. Even my Tech couldn't believe this guitar. It's not original. I was the 2nd owner. The heads are Sperzals, the circuit board has been removed. The guitar has been refretted in the past. I really can't tell you the model. I can't say its an LS80 because I dont recall if it had FEB before the refret. It could be an LS50 or LS60. The neck on this guitar is the slimmest Tokai I've ever played. The guitar has been fitted with Jason Lollar Imperials. Even against any of my LS80's this guitar just has something none of my other guitars have. The tone is really something. A burst is obviously a burst and my Tech's 59 PAF's have something in the sound i've never ever heard before. I can't describe it, its this really sweet upper mid that sound incredible. I paid $300 in the 80's, his is worth over 300K now. this guitar is worn and has been played extensively. I should ask him if I could do a side by side but I'm pretty sure he would be reluctant to post pics of his burst. It doesnt hurt to ask.
